This is the name of some kind of children's game that they have in Russia. I am trying to think of the proper English equivalent (if it exists).
Here's the context:
На этот раз в веселых играх участвовали команда родителей и команда детей. Бесспорную победу, особенно по итогам конкурса «Живое-не живое» одержала команда детей. Проигравшая сторона объяснила свое поражение тем, что дети были лучше подготовлены к конкурсам.
Is there such a game as "Alive - not alive" in English? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Here's the context:
На этот раз в веселых играх участвовали команда родителей и команда детей. Бесспорную победу, особенно по итогам конкурса «Живое-не живое» одержала команда детей. Проигравшая сторона объяснила свое поражение тем, что дети были лучше подготовлены к конкурсам.

Мне кажется, что слово dead в названии детского конкурса выглядит пугающим. Камень, например, хоть и предмет неживой природы, но dead его никак не назовешь. И потом Dead or Alive может вызвать ненужные ассоциации с играми про зомби, где нужно выжить любой ценой, и мне во всяком случае напоминает рифму Live or Die. Если игра носит подвижный характер и построена по принципу "вопрос-ответ", то я бы предложил вариант living or non-living things (interactive) quiz.

Также вариант nature knowledge contest может вписаться, хотя он не совсем точно передает противопоставление, заложенное в оригинале, так как в данном случае наличие дефиса указывает на элемент угадывания. С другой стороны, под знаниями об окружающем мире, закладываемыми в умы школьников на уроках биологии и географии, подразумевается умение человека отличать живое от неживого.

Maybe "animate-inanimate", but that's a bit fancy for a video game!

Re the dead light bulb, it is just an expression, of course. We would need go through a whole catalog of dead chairs, walls, etc.
That's a choice of three rather than two, and avoids the problem of whether a stone is dead or not! Light bulbs on the other hand can definitely be alive, and when they are dead, you throw them away. "The bulb is dead" is a perfectly ordinary phrase.
