Patent was originally published in German The US patent is a translation. Here are the corresponding German passages:

Thereafter, 10 ml of ethyl orthosilicon dioxidete are added over the course of 15 minutes.

Probably an OCR error For example, you would find the following paper by looking for "dioxidet":

The subscript cross sign is read as a "t" by OCR software
So I guess, this error made its way into some patent applications.

Tippfehler Ich stimme zu, es handelt sich um einen Tippfehler. Gemeint ist dioxide. Das ergibt chemisch in diesem Zusammenhang Sinn.
