Dear ProZians,

I've already posted this topic on the Italian forum but no one came up with a reply, so I'm wondering if the international community is more willing to help...

Dear ProZians,

I've already posted this topic on the Italian forum but no one came up with a reply, so I'm wondering if the international community is more willing to help...

I got a degree in translation 2 and a half years ago and always wanted to apply for a traineeship at the translation service of the European Commission in Brussels, but for personal reasons I never took this opportunity into serious consideration, at least up to now.
In fact now I'm seriously considering to finally apply for it, but would like to know if any of you has ever made this experience, if you advise me to try and go for it or not, if it was a good and profitable experience for you... Things like these, I mean, comments or opinions or anything else that comes to your mind.

Thanks in advance,

Cecilia

Traineeship at European Parliament in Luxembourg - Aug 17, 2007

Dear Cecilia,

I can't help you with your question specifically.
But I performed a 3-month translation traineeship at the European Parliament in Luxembourg last year and I have to say it was really worth going.

I learnt a lot about the EU institutions and new terminology.

Also, Luxembourg is very small - especially if you come from a large city - but Brussels has a lot more to offer, I think.

My experience was definitely positive. ... See more

Hope I've been somehow helpful.

Good luck!
