Trados 2007 not opening

I'm at a complete loss when it comes to ideas about what went wrong and what to do to fix the situation.
I was working on some ttx files in TagEditor+Workbench, all good, no issues.
Had one word document file that I wanted to work on in Word, so I activated the SDL Trados tab in Word by activating the TRADOS8.dotm template in Templates menu.

I'm at a complete loss when it comes to ideas about what went wrong and what to do to fix the situation.
I was working on some ttx files in TagEditor+Workbench, all good, no issues.
Had one word document file that I wanted to work on in Word, so I activated the SDL Trados tab in Word by activating the TRADOS8.dotm template in Templates menu.
When I tried to run TagEditor+Workbench, it would look like the application is opening but it wasn't actually running (nothing on the screen).
I've tried to remove the TRADOS8.dotm file but the button 'REMOVE' in the template menu/tab is not active.
I've tried removing the file completely by deleting it. It was not showing in the Word menu anymore, but TagEditor was still not opening.
Slightly despairing and ready to go to a little corner and cry, I decided to reinstall Trados.
Returned the license, uninstalled, reinstalled, no issues.
Well.
The TagEditor is doing the exact same thing it did before the reinstall. It looks like the application is opening but nothing happens.
TRADOS8.dotm file is back in Word.
