I graduated from the School of Mechanical Engineering in Přerov and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ostrava. I have extensive experience in engineering/machining (I worked more than 12 years as a mechanical designer/technologist), but also as an English/Czech translator. I have been working full-time as a translator for more than seven years, including the earlier occasional translations it is about eight years. I am primarily involved in technical translations such as: Manuals for machines and various products (grinders, refrigerators, white goods, ...), work procedures, protocols, technical reports, etc. I also produce workshop manuals for cars (Ford, Renault, Iveco, etc.) and quite often proofread them. I have been working in English for about 30 years as a student, self-taught, practitioner, my wife is an English teacher, previously I also worked a lot as an interpreter for handovers and operator training for CNC machines. Examinations matriculation and general state examinations. C1+ level, but with quite extensive knowledge of terminology in technology, automotive, IT and others. I have worked as a designer/technologist for approximately 12 years – this is where I draw my terminology and mechanical and technical experience from. |
