Source text - English Here is a question we asked Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh: “Oney ki kemfor modotor ghoror sainbudhgin buzonne?”
Having some trouble understanding what this question means? Well, you’re not alone. The majority of refugees we asked, over 80%, would also have trouble answering this question, but
for a different reason.
What was the question?
The question translates to “Do you understand the signage for services in your camp?” The answer was a resounding “no!” for 65% of those surveyed (261 out of 404).
This is the problem Translators without Borders was asked to look at within the sprawling refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. Since 2017 these camps are home to more than
850,000 Rohingya refugees. They also accommodate more than 130 national and international organizations and agencies offering assistance to the Rohingya community. Meeting the needs of a city-sized population of close to a million people is no easy feat. Like all “city” populations, the residents of these refugee camps need a range of services to meet their daily needs.
Locating these services can be a challenge. There are no smartphones with Google Maps or street maps. Residents are not allowed to access the internet, nor are there detailed street
directories or maps of the camps. So, maybe they should just follow the signs? Not if you do not understand these either.
Services such as medical clinics, food distribution centers and information hubs are scattered throughout tens of thousands of makeshift homes and buildings. Each must be found by navigating the maze of thousands of roads and alleys which snake through the camps. Making your way from point A to point B is not always straightforward, including when it comes to critical and even lifesaving services such as hospitals. While the camps are littered with signs, these come in a variety of format, style, color, and language combinations, many of which lead to
confusion.

La organización Translators without Borders fue llamada a revisar este problema en los extensos campos de refugiados de Cox’s Bazar en Bangladesh. Desde 2017, estos campamentos son el hogar de más de 850.000 refugiados rohinyás. También alojan a más de 130 organizaciones y agencias nacionales e internacionales que ofrecen asistencia a la comunidad rohinyá. Suicide is a serious public health concern. On average, 80% of suicide decedents had contact with primary care within 1 year of their suicide. This and other research underscore the importance of screening for suicide risk within primary care settings, and implementation of suicide risk screening is already underway in many practices. However, while primary care practices may be familiar with screening for other mental health concerns (e.g., depression), many feel uncomfortable or unprepared for suicide risk screening. To meet the increasing demand for evidence-based suicide-risk-screening guidance, we provide a clinical pathway for adult primary care practices (to include family medicine, internal medicine, women's health). The pathway was developed by experts with research, clinical expertise, and experience in suicide risk screening and primary care. We also provide detailed guidance to aid primary care practices in their decisions about how to implement the clinical pathway.

Translation - Spanish El camino clínico para el tamizaje del riesgo suicida en entornos de atención primaria de adultos: recomendaciones especiales
El suicido es un problema importante de salud pública. En promedio, el 80 % de las personas que mueren por suicidio tuvieron contacto con centros de atención primaria durante el año previo al suicidio. Estos datos, junto a otras investigaciones resaltan la importancia del tamizaje del riesgo suicida dentro de los entornos de atención primaria. La implementación del tamizaje del riesgo suicida ya se encuentra encaminada en muchas prácticas. Sin embargo, mientras que muchos centros de atención primaria pueden estar familiarizados con el tamizaje de otros problemas relacionados con la salud mental (como, por ejemplo, la depresión), otros sienten incomodidad o falta de preparación para abordar un tamizaje de riesgo suicida. Para enfrentar la demanda creciente de guías para el tamizaje del riesgo suicida que estén respaldadas por evidencia científica, proponemos un camino clínico para las distintas prácticas de atención primaria de adultos (para incluir a la medicina familiar, interna, y la salud femenina).
