My name is Niklas Lundström and I am currently studying translation at Lund University, Sweden. My first language is Swedish and I primarily translate from English, but also from Spanish, Danish and Norwegian. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English and look forward to obtaining a two-year Master of Arts in Translation by summer 2011. I have also, as part of my Bachelor, studied two semesters of film studies and one semester of history. I have previously lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland, and studied Spanish in Barcelona, Spain.
In July 2010 I also did a one-month traineeship at the Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels, Belgium, translating EU texts for the committees. These translations were primarily from English into Swedish, but also from Spanish. The Swedish translators at the committees were very pleased with my contributions. I also have experience using Trados.
My previous work experience includes being a professional musician, as I sing and play the guitar. I have also worked at the Stockholm Globe Arena, mainly, but not exclusively, at the box office on the side while studying. |
