Notarized document from Veracruz Mexico
I just can't figure out what these initials might stand for. They appear in what appears to be the letterhead of a notary office in Veracruz, Mexico. On the upper left of the page, the lower-case letters mp appear in a stylized format. To the right appears the word NOTARÍA and then the number of the Notary Office. Below that is the name of the notary and the word "Titular". I think the letters might might refer to Ministerio Público. Any suggestions?

Hi, in mi opinion MP stands for "mensaje privado" (private message). I live in Argentina and we use this term a lot.
I hope it is helpful!

: Tania, why would a "mensaje privado" appear on the letterhead of a notary's office in Veracruz? It is a legal document.

: Exactly. I believe Taña is nearer the mark when suggesting "Matrícula Profesional" - Is there a number after that? ¡Misterios de México lindo y querido!

It is still difficult to pin down the exact meaning of "M.P." However, using key words you provided in your context and isolating certain words using " ", a number of hits on Google suggests that MP may well be "Ministerio Público". However, I am still not 100% convinced.

This is perhaps a wild thought but there is another entry on ProZ: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish_to_english/medical_general... which relates to "matrícula profesional". However, I can't find any concrete evidence which would suggest that it may be related to the number/professional license of some sort!
