Interesting. The Lithuanian place name dictionary does give Stemples as well, but the inroads of Stempliai are deep, even to the Baltic Times (http://lithuania.culturefile.com/stempliai). Presumably this resident (http://www.kedainiai.lt/go.php/lit/Tekle-Bruzaite/1223) never saw the English translation. There are 191 hits for Stempliai Lithuania, but most from weather and similar tourism sites. The co-ordinates differ slightly as do the administrative units, depending on the ending.

: That's just a mistake by whoever was entering the names into the database for that website. Both the actual Google Maps and maps.lt have that spot as Stemplės.
