German term or phrase: Einbauuntersuchung / Einbauprobe / Einbauprüfung

-> tolerance and fitting examination?

assembly trial
Explanation:
This is a term I am familiar with from new product introduction routines, but I'd say with very high certainty that any two companies will have two different terms for the same thing in English.
So, helpful as it may be, here's Johnson Controls' take on it. They have "parts fitting" and "assembly trials" as elements of an overall "pilot production trial".

"Parts fitting" seems to fit better in my context, where "assembly trials" are "Montageversuche".
Thanks a lot. All the "installation" thing did not convince me, as we are not talking about an "installation" here - IMHO.
