German term

die vom Künstler eingeforderte Vielfalt

German to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
This phrase is killing me:

Have I missed the plot, any suggestions here on the last phrase?! It's about Alfred Kubin, whose art "invokes" narratives...

This long-term museum work is consistently focused on the fundamental elements of a museum of “collecting, preserving, researching, educating” – while the museum work consistently strives to portray the diversity of the narratives invoked by his art, which are demanded by the artist.

a rephrase attempt

The museum's long-term commitment ((to Kubin, if that's so)) consistently follows the fundamental ((if not already implicit: **museum**)) tenets of “collecting, preserving, researching and educating”, striving always to inform that process ((i.e. of applying mus. tenets; 'inform...' for verb 'leben')) with the same diversity as the artist would invoke through his implicit narratives.
(David, I can only agree re. 'killing', hope this attempt doesn't miss the point. Regards/ S.)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "thanks all of you for the input. I went with a combination of stephen's pati's & polyglot's suggestions. I'll enter tenets into the glossary as it does fit well here and I doubt this phrase will ever come up again!"

diversity invoked by the artist

The way i read it it talks about the diversity of the artist (the diversity the artist invokes in his art) and how through his art he is portrayed and lives on in the museum work.
