Purnice o Pumice?

Hi Diana, are you sure is not a typo?
I looked up in two dictionaries and "purnice" doesn´t exist. Maybe it could be "pumice" = "Piedra Pómez" that means,"a porous or spongy form of volcanic glass used as an abrasive. To rub, smooth, clean, etc, with pumice.
I think it makes sense in this context.

agree Rick Henry : I tend to agree... and if it's made into a powder, it's "piedra pómez pulverizada"
