Obrada u nizu (batch processing) - periodièna obrada grupe podataka pohranjenih u raèunalni sustav u odreðenom vremenskom razmaku.

Obrada grupe dokumenata ili fajlova odjednom. U grupnoj obradi korisnik zadaje kompjuteru zadatak, npr. štampanje pisama za sve na mailing listi, i èeka da ceo zadatak bude završen. Za vreme grupnog posla korisnik ne stupa u interakciju sa kompjuterom. U interaktivnoj obradi korisnik komunicira sa kompjuterom dok se program izvršava, npr. dajuæi instrukcije za svaki detalj.
