If the antenna is set to scan that sector very slowly, or even to stop, flooding the target area with radar energy, the resulting radar returns can be integrated over a second or more. This provides an effective beamwidth of 0.5 degrees of better. This is similar to the beamwidth available from a sideways-looking Sar, so gives a much higher resolution, for example 0.5[degrees] or better. |
