A visual novel is a video game genre that tells an interactive story primarily through text. They usually feature static character models and locations, and while they might have some animated cutscenes, these are typically short (if present at all).

Jellemzően állóképek és szöveges körülírás segítségével illusztrált, általában távolkeleti megjelenítési stílura épülő, csökkentett interakciójú számítógépes játék.

Használják (pl. wikipedia) a "vizuális regény" (steam) illetve "látványregény" (wikipedia) kifejezéseket, azonban egyiket se érzem erősen felkapottnak.

Akár választhatunk egyet a lehetőségek közül vagy (ha a környezet megengedi, pl. magyrázó jellegű) akkor esetleg fel is sorolhatjuk a lehetséges fordításokat.

Nyilván a képregény már foglalt. A "képes regény" szerintem segít annak a kifejezésében, hogy "nem kizárólagosan képre épülő" a stílus.

Tulajdonképpen "képes és szöveges regény" de a "regény" már kifejezi a "szöveget" tehát így jött a "képes regény"
