STRUTTURE CONTROVENTATE
Una struttura controventata è quella che contiene elementi di controvento. Questi sono elementi verticali, normalmente pareti, talmente rigide rispetto agli altri elementi da poter ammettere che essi assorbono equilibrandole tutte le forze orizzontali. L’Eurocodice definisce in questo modo la struttura controventata:
“quella dove gli elementi di controvento equilibrano e trasmettono alla fondazione almeno il 90% di tutte le forze orizzontali applicate alla struttura”.
