German term

einhalten auf

German to English Medical Medical (general) Medications
This appears in the treatment schedule of a hospital report:

"Volumen angefordert: xx mL ........ einhalten auf: x% ........ Volumen hergestellt: xx mL"

The percentage is a very small number, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the dilution, but I don't see a direct connection, vocabulary-wise, between that concept and the term used.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

This is a hard one to award points to, because I think both answers are equally valid, so I will give the points to Lara, because she posted first, but many thanks to uyuni for your input as well.

Full sentence needed Hi, could post the full sentence here, please?
Anne Schulz Apr 17, 2023:
Für mich klingt es nach "einstellen auf x%" (was auf dasselbe hinausläuft: titrate).
uyuni Apr 17, 2023:
Für mich... ...klingt das vielleicht nach einem Herstellungsprotokoll für eine Infusionslösung (eventuell in der Krankenhausapotheke). Das könnte heißen, dass der Wirkstoffgehalt der Lösung auf x% "eingehalten" (AT? CH?) werden soll, was ich hier als "titriert/eintitriert" auffassen würde (titrate/titration).

keep to sth. v · keep v · maintain v - https://www.linguee.de/deutsch-englisch/uebersetzung/einhalt...

You still haven't said what this is about. Volume of what?
Barbara L Pavlik (asker) Apr 16, 2023:
Sorry, there is no sentence. I just put the ellipses in as space markers. This is all the context there is, but I think it may mean something like: "maintain at"
Andrew Bramhall Apr 16, 2023:
Einhalten...auf means ' keep to', 'do not exceed', ' not to exceed' ( given amount), etc.
philgoddard Apr 16, 2023:
Yes, it's not clear what this is about or what the ellipses represent.
