I suppose "to release" in English and in this sense should be translated into Turkish as "çıkmak".

I know what you mean; however, in English \"to release\" has a meaning different from what you all have understood: \"To issue for performance, sale, publication, or distribution\" and \"make available or free for sale or publication\" and also \"publish a magazine or newspaper\" [for the noun: \"something issued for sale or public showing (especially a record or film); \"a new release from the London Symphony Orchestra\"]. So you can buy and take it home with you.

The act of showing a film in cinemas is called \"to screen\", not \"to release\".

: kitap çıkar; film girer (gösterime) / onlar da çıkar. anything you buy from the store and take home with "çıkar", but this movie is on show in a theater obviously, so "gösterime girer".
