Deutsch term
Schwerbehinderteneigenschaft
Deutsch > Englisch

When a company interviews applicants for an open position, they apparently have to ask him about "Schwerbehinderteneigenschaft" because the hiring of a severelly challenged employee entails certain formalities. Anyone know how to translate this?

severe disability status
... might work. Depending on the context you might want to work around this term though.

: severely challenged status. I entered it, but I don't think it really merits a separate entry. But disability is not politically correct AFAIK

: nothing wrong with disability as a term. In the UK "Are you registered disabled?" is a very common question on forms.

whether they have any (serious) disability
You probably have to explain this, whatever term is used. In England, for employment law purposes it is relevant whether someone has a disability defined under the Disability Discrimination Act, percentage disablement or seriousness of the disability does not come into this. And the wrong kind of questions at a job interview could be discrimation.
