Englisch term

Applicable Mining Act

Englisch > Deutsch Rechts- und Patentwesen Bergbau und Mineralien/Edelsteine
All,

I am translating the bio of a person in the management of a mining company.
The sentence in question reads:

"Mr. Xyz has held statutory positions as registered manager under the ***applicable mining acts*** in several countries and commodities, notably gold/silver, nickel, diamonds, coal and iron."

Source text is from Australia; target is German.

Many thanks.

Peter

Poor sports Peter!! Come on , retarded or not - you asked - you got answers, possibly the one that led to realization. So as long as an answer is correct you should have the decency to award points. It´s not like you´ll lose a square meter of your property . AYAYAYYY, some people...

@ Brigitte and thefastshow many thanks for your discussion entry and answer. I recognise and appreciate the effort you have made in trying to help.
I have closed the question without grading after I have re-read my source text and realised that I had mistaken the term for a proper noun. I realised then that that 'applicable' is simply the adjective and 'mining act' is the noun. I should have never posted this. I was a case of late night brain malfunction.

Question closed without grading Why?
Errant question
What does this mean?
The question is irrelevant and you never meant to ask it?
IF you wanted to ask it but you don't approve of the suggestions, what is the correct answer?
Two people attempted to help you - I certainly won't bother again.
BrigitteHilgner Jan 23, 2018:
Ich würde den Originalbegriff beibehalten ... (falls jemand Genaues wissen will, kann er/sie die betreffenden Gesetze suchen) und als Erklärung "Bergrecht/Berggesetze" (mining law) bzw. "Minengesetz" (mining act) in Klammern dazu schreiben.

Oder auch
nach den in verschiedenen Ländern geltendem Bergbaurecht (oder gerne auch Pluralform hier)...
oder den Satz so umstrukturieren wie es passt und gewünscht... der Mann hatte auf jeden Fall Positionen mit Befugnissen etc. in, die jeweils geltendem Bergbau unterlagen.
