The document https://www.google.fr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd... (https://goo.gl/YzP4Pz) gives a list of lots of properties of which some have, for "Genre(s) de nature" "Place-jardin", but many have just "jardin", or several listed "jardins"
On page 17, one finds:
"Genre(s) de nature: Jardin, 19'379m2 (No ad hoc 6 du plan)
Jardin, 13’435m2 (No ad hoc 7 du plan vient de la p.2202)
Jardin, 897m2 (No ad hoc 8 du plan)
Route, chemin, 513m2 "
"Route, chemin" seems to me to indicate that this category includes any open space within the demise.
Rather than being a "garden square", "place-jardin" might be a courtyard garden, though it could be a garden square.

: Place-jardin is a garden square. So, although it is a "type of surroundings", it is rather more than that in this context.
