French to English Art/Literary Archaeology ancient art
Hello!
DOC: 1907 Museum catalog of ancient Egyptian mirrors. Catalog entry.
CONTEXT: 44029. Mirror. -- Bronze.
Literally: The example is striking in demonstrating that the utensil was wrapped tight.
ISSUE: Not crazy about the latter, could I say: outstanding for illustrating that [remarkable? noteworthy?] without being unfaithful to the French?
Thank you in advance!

I think you can be even more literal here.

I think the use of the term 'striking' is fine, but what is wrong with both that and your revised version is the fact you are trying to retain the FR construction, which is what makes it awkward here.

I also feel that 'outstanding' or 'noteworthy' are really taking it too far from the feeling of the FR, which is simply that one is struck by this fact as it is so well demonstarted here.

agree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : "This is a striking example of how such a utensile could be...", or even "a fine example".
