Hello!
DOC: 1907 Museum catalog of ancient Egyptian mirrors. Catalog entry.
CONTEXT: 44029. Mirror. -- Bronze. -- Le miroir, bien conservé, est encrassé par le bitume. La dorure du disque, découverte par place, est ***d'un jaune d'or franc***, qui fait contraste avec le rouge du cuivre du manche.
ATTEMPT: The gilding of the disk, exposed in places, is pure/true/bright/plain/straight golden yellow, which contrasts with the red from the copper of the handle.
ISSUE: I found jaune d'or as golden yellow but not sure what the "franc" adds. Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance!

: I think it is rather contradictory to follow 'franc' with 'yellowish' — the hole point, surely, is that it is distinctly yellow, not 'a bit yellow'. And 'yellowish golden colour' doesn't really sound natural, as e.g. 'golden yellow (colour)' might

BTW, I wouldn't say 'red from the copper' — it is unequivocally the red of the copper.
