Can someone shed some light on what "optique" means in this context? Is it just a way of saying a "souscription assurance vie" is what the client is planning on doing? This is in a document describing a financial institution's investor profile tool.
Il ne sera pas possible de créer un projet d’investissement assurance vie (contrat de capitalisation) si le régime matrimonial n’est pas renseigné et si (condition cumulative) la situation familiale est renseignée à ‘Vie maritale’ ou ‘Inconnue’.

Be careful with *assurance vie* which is basically a saving or investment plan rather than life insurance in the UK sense of the term. Life insurance in French is an *assurance décès*

In fact its a scheme which is based on investment funds (similar to unit trusts as were) either directly linked or which will give a fixed interest rate at the end of the year (when the assureur knows how much they've earnt!) but the very useful part for the investor is that at the end of 8 years any profit or interest paid and not previously withdrawn becomes tax-free. Also on death the assurance vie can be paid to anyone (not just close family) without death duties.
