German term

Pultanschluss

German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Hardware Input and output devices
Not much context. I am translating a product list. I have come to input and output devices (other elements of the list are control panel, display, keyboard, mouse, etc.). The one I'm stuck on is "Comserver & Pultanschluss". Comserver seems to be ComServer, but I am having trouble finding anything sensible for Pultanschluss. Does anyone know what it could be in this context?

Thanks!

A lot of the Google Images relate to mixing desks, though that may not be relevant. I'd be tempted to put something vague like desk or console connection unless you have any more information elsewhere in the document.

It's COM server, by the way. COM stands for component object model.

desk (power) outlet

It does not sound like a Mischpult (mixing console). With all the computer-related connectivity provided here, it would make good sense if the desk (Pult) itself would also furnish a power outlet (Steckdose) for additional consumers, such as ventilator fan, plugin for additional devices, etc. There is mention already of a COM server, which serves up actions or data requested by a Com client. It is conceivable that the listing of "Comserver & Pultanschluss" means that there is a power outlet that is or may be shared by the Com server and any other powered device. I would try something like COM Server and desk outlet. And I would not be surprised if this were a simple ""spare power outlet", that is, "Com Server & spare (power) outlet".

Better yet: COM Server and spare console (power) outlet
Example sentence:

"Com Server & spare (power) outlet"

agree philgoddard : I'm not totally sure of this, but I think it's the most likely explanation.

Mixing board connection

In the recording industry, in German a sound mixing board is called a Pult. Anschlus is the jack or connector on these boards, so Pultanschluss would be a mixing board connection, although your description doesn't mention a sound recording device.

console connection

Just to be broad in the translation, a Pult is usually some sort of control console.
