French term

parquet de chêne à compartiments

French to English Other Architecture Flooring
Anyone able to tell me what the "compartiments" might refer to at the end of the following piece of text?

Thanks in advance for any help...

agree Christopher Crockett : A floor is an essential part of a piece of architecture, seems to me. I'd suggest adding "floor" after "parquet."
