I haven't been able to find a suitable translation for this word anywhere thus far.
"Otro método que no necesita calor es la alcoholatura, que determinadas plantas, como el boldo, agradecen o prefieren antes de la destilación. En este caso, las plantas se trocean y se guardan cubiertas de alcohol durante varias semanas para luego filtrar el alcohol. De esta forma se prepara la famosa agua de Hungría, con romero, menta, pétalos de rosa, la piel de un limón y agua de azahar, y sólo hace falta un mes para obtener esta esencia."

As far as I understand, the "alcoholatura" uses fresh plants, whereas the "tintura" can also use dried ones. But this seperation does not seem to exist in English and "tincture" covers both.
