German term
INTERESSENTEN
Can someone please help me to translate this sentence?
This is part of a contract between two parties where INTERESSENTEN is the second party.
3 +6 | interested parties | Michael Martin, MA |
3 +4 | Potential purchaser | David Wright |

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

I would probably stick with the plural here unless the language is geared towards only one specific entity or person

Writeaway is correct in saying that you're required to split this up into several questions, if you're having trouble with the whole sentence. On the other hand, the focus on isolated terms often translates into solutions that are difficult to use in the wider context. That's why I myself prefer to tackle whole sentences rather than individual terms, even if it's more time-consuming.
Anyway, here are two options of how you might be able to break this down:
"Both open publications (open source information) and information (already) familiar to interested parties beyond the object of their companies' collaboration are (is) assumed to be known."
"Assumed to be known is both open source information and any information interested parties are familiar with beyond the object of their companies' collaboration."
Thank you for your help however i am still not able to translate the complete sentence. Please help |

: Perfectly legitimate KudoZ query, despite the double-edged welcome in the Discussion Box. 'Der Interessent' is the person who has expressed an interest in purchasing a product or services. The 'interested xyz' is as authentically English as 'das Handy'.

: only problem is, how can a potential purchaser be a party to a contract? /ok if it fits the context.

Whynot, it could be a non-disclosure agreement before the actual purchase contract is concluded. Thanks writeaway

: Anything with "party" could become confusing. If one is the "interested party", what's the other? Not interested?

2.3 One term is allowed per question. Including multiple terms for translation in a single KudoZ posting interferes with the process of generating glossary entries.
