Spanish term

SPMV

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general)
Part of a medical report giving instructions for patient care:

TTO SALA COT.
Ctes por turno
Dieta basal
SPMV
Pantoprazol 40mg/24h iv

I'm really struggling to find any reference to SPMV anywhere!

Thanks

No I don't think so, the history is multiple myeloma and previous periprosthetic fracture in 2011.
I don't know if SPMV could be something to do with Pulmonary and Vascular checks? I'm really stumped, I can't find a reference to this anywhere other than 'Satellite panicum mosaic virus', 'Sociedade Paulista de Medicina Veterinária' and 'synaptosomal plasma membrane vesicles' which don't fit here.

Context Thanks for clarifying COT. Is there anything in the patient's progress notes or medical history that would give a clue about this SPMV instruction?
LouC1482 (asker) May 23, 2013:
Hi, sorry I just realised that I completely forgot to tell you what the medical report is regarding! It is for a periprosthetic fracture of the femur.
I have translated COT as 'orthopaedics & traumatology surgery' (Cirurgia Ortopèdica y Traumatologia).
Thanks!

Context It doesn't appear likely that they would slip in a phrase like "severe pneumonia under mechanical ventilation" in a list of doctor's orders for vital sign monitoring, diet and medication.

LouC: How are you translating COT.?
Anne Smith Campbell May 22, 2013:
I don't know if it will be of any use at all, the english of SPMV I've found in some studies about chest problems in piglests experiments, as far as I see stands for Severe Pneumonia under Mechanical Ventilation. May it be that they have just kept this original acronym?
I'm understanding that you don't know what SPMV stands for in the original/source text, so I hope this may help if it fits in the rest of context you may have.

I haven't found any equivalent acronym as for yet in Spanish as for "ventilacion mecánica" or "ventilación asistida", except in some mexican text where they refer to VM, PSV...

Taking a look at your records, I hope you decide to answer sometime!! That is if you think you can help someone else. Cheers.
Take care. A.
