Chinese to English Medical Medical (general)
Could it be that the above mentioned term is another name for "棉花子 Semen Gossypii"? I found another possible translation: "白绵子 Sorbus Folgneri", but this seems to be a tree? Can someone help, please?

Context:

The brief description of what the plant does in medicinal terms does appear, superficially, to be compatible with the medication you are translating.

Mountain Ash

I've found a translation of 白綿子樹 from Japanese, Sorbus Japonica which is the Japanese mountain ash. The Wikipedia page for the genus sorbus suggests that mountain ash, as well as whitebeam or rowan are subtypes.

The exact species might be difficult to find, if you read the Wiki there are many microspecies in China; I would be happy with mountain-ash as a solution.
