Muscle and Tendon Injuries
Strain or rupture, depending upon the percentage of fibers injured.
Injury can occur at muscle origin, muscle insertion, muscle belly, myo-tendoninal junction or to tendon itself.
Treatment—RICE, support with elastic wrap, flexibility training to improve ROM with gradual increase of activity, possible surgery for a complete rupture.
