Medical/Legal - From Autopsy Report
This is a term found in an Autopsy Report from Mexico [Dictamen Medico-Legal de Necropsia].
The sentence reads as follows:
"Asi mismo no se levantaron mantas ni se recabaron huellas dactilares, por presentar ausencia de la piel en la palma de ambos manos...."
what is meant by "no se levantaron mantas" in this context?
Could "mantas" refer to "article of clothing/cloth" here, or something else?
Would appreciate any insight on this expression.
Thanks.

I think mantas here might be the same as tejidos, tissue.
Discussion
Presumably by "palma" they mean "front", because the palm doesn't normally include the fingers.
