German term

Schadensersatzleistungen in Höhe von (Satzproblem)

German to English Bus/Financial Law: Contract(s)
Bei Auftragsstornierung bis 14 Tage vor Aufbaubeginn werden Schadensersatzleistungen in Höhe von 25 % des Auftragswertes, bei Absage 7 Tage vor Aufbaubeginn 50 % und unter 7 Tagen 100 % des Auftragswertes berechnet.

Compensation payment equivalent to 25% of the order value in the case of a cancellation of the order within 14 days before the start of setup, equivalent to 50% in the case of a cancellation within 7 days before the start of setup and equivalent to 100% in the case of a cancellation under 7 days will be charged??

Ich habe große Probleme mit diesem Satz, der m.e. im deutschen etw. unglücklich formuliert ist und wäre sehr dankbar für eure Rückmeldung, ob man das halbwegs so formulieren kann.

Vielen Dank!

Definitely NOT "within 14 days" for the first part - it means 14 or MORE days!!

I've had this often (does that make it right, though?) (and see the discussion contribution by phoeberuth on the bis element - I'd use if the order is cancelled by the 14th day before ... at the latest - and would generally avoid the overuse of noun phrases and replace them with verbs
Peer comment(s):

agree Phoebe Indetzki : Indeed - always best to replace overuse of nouns with verbs!! :-)
