Persian (Farsi) term

نشنیده گرفتن

Persian (Farsi) to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Autobiography - جرأت کردم او را پدر بخوانم" - بلقیس شیخ"
Greetings,

Here we have an interesting use of گرفتن after a past participle:

بدین‌گونه صدای خداوند را نشنیده گرفتم و مخالفت نمودم.

In this sentence, Bilquis is commenting on the way in which she turned a deaf ear to the voice of God.

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon

to turn a deaf ear to

You already answered your question! This idiom, in my opinion, very well fits the situation.

گرفتن here doesn't have any special meaning, and it forms an expression with نشنیده. A more formal form of this expression is نشنیده انگاشتن.
اِعراض از آیات الهی و نشنیده انگاشتن آن و غفلت از گناهان گذشته خویش، ستم، و موجب سقوط و نابودی امّت ها است

However, we can say گرفتن here means فرض کردن (to presume, to consider)
Peer comment(s):

agree Hamid Varmazyari : this is the only idiom matching the question. For the rest of answers, there are other Farsi equivalents.
