The problem is that beadboard = lambris — the type of tongued-and-grooved panels that have a decorative 'bead' down one edge
And sadly, wainscot also = lambris! — panelling to the lower part of the wall only, from dado to skirting.
I think this may be the safest way to explain it, giving further details if you consider it necessary.
