rifampin antibiotics

I came across this term the other day, and I checked the term on google by just mentioning it.
Peer comment(s):

agree Anthony Green : Rifampicin is the International Nonproprietary Name (or INN) while rifampin is the United States Adopted Name (or USAN) : as it's an international context, I tend to use the INN for translations. However, scientifically I also claim the doctor is mistaken

What is Rifampicine? Rifampicine (Rifampin) is used with other medicines to treat tuberculosis (TB).
Peer comment(s):

neutral Anthony Green : yes, but a Google search shows most of the "rifampicine" hits are non-native speakers or written in foreign languages (French, Dutch etc.)
