For you reference. The names of those who make contributions are usually listed on a credit list. For those who don't provide any input but still get their names listed, they actually "claim/take/receive undeserved credits".

I don't have my own [real] invention but I have got my name attached to a pending patent, because attaching my name to a patent entitles me to get company bonus.
In academia, it some times happens that someone's name is attached to a paper for the sake of the name rather than for any work done.
