I have always understood "Vollstreckung" to mean enforcement in its generic sense and unless the context is specific, I would not assume that this means "foreclosure" (which is a very specific term in landlord & tenant law) As for "compulsory" I confess to not being certain. Certainly in UK and Ireland enforcement proceedings are never "compulsory" in civil matters - it is a matter for the party who has obtained an order as to whether to enforce it. The only exception would be where a party is in contempt of Court, such as wilful disobedience of an injunction - in this case the Court will enforce of its own volition. |

zwangsvollstreckungssache execution of a judgment; enforcement of a judgment Explanation: In this case I would translate the term as the "matter of the execution of a judgment." A Zwangsvollstreckung can be a foreclosure on a mortgage, but your context doesn't tell us enough to be sure. It is more likely to pertain to an execution or enforement action. Zwangsvollstreckung is more narrowly defined than Vollstreckung alone. A Vollstreckung can be an action taken by a creditor to enforce a claim for the payment of money owed. Execution on (or of) a judgment usually involves seizing and selling enough of the debtor's property to satisfy the judgment. |

in der Zwangsvollstreckungssache on the matter of levy of execution/method of enforcement Explanation: It is not a -verfahren but a -sache, so doubtful whether is an execution proceeding. In Ireland and G.B., it is a stage reached post-litigation and therefore no sep. proceedings are normally needed. As no context, difficult to conjecture further. Method of enforcement could include Gehaltspfändung/attachment of earnings or distraint of assets. Example sentence(s):
