photo of actual object

"photo of (the) actual object" is what the phrase in isolation means, but in this context, you would have to say "Fig. 6 shows an actual photo of the WTS equipment."

photograph of material object

photo of real object, in some cases just photo(graph) will suffice. Photos, unlike pictures or images, are always real.

The best can be emphasized is "actual size, unscaled"

"Photograph of the object." No further qualification is necessary. If the object were a replica of the real device, we'd say "photograph of the copy (modified in some way) of the object." If the object itself got photographed, we'd just say "photograph of the object" without more qualification.

A photograph of something is just a representation of something, not the real thing itself.

1. No matter how real a photograph is, a photograph is usually 2-dimensional, it is just a 2-dimensional projection of the 3-dimensional object.

2. A photograph of something will necessarily shrink or enlarge (i.e., scale) the object so that the object gets fit in winthin the finite piece of photographic paper. If the photograph is unscaled, we'd put a note: "actual size" or "unscaled" on the photo to explicitly say that.

"Photograph of the real object" is simply equal to "photograph of the object." Keeping emphasizing it being "real" is redundant, if not "there are no 300 pieces of silver here." :-)
