English term

roots

Non-PRO English Other Other hair styling
Do you say roots, plural?
When you dye your hair, after certain period your roots start showing, this is not a very pleasant thing to see... So would you say:
If the hair is dyed an extra attention should be paid to avoid the roots to be shown.

Thank you.

roots is correct.

It may be better to say that "If your hair is dyed, extra attention should be paid to covering the roots".

No one need ever know. ;))

roots

If the hair is dyed, extra attention should be paid, to avoid the roots showing (to prevent the roots from showing).
