To me (after a little thought, it must be admitted!) "wilful" has a connotation of "with deliberate(ly malicious) intent", whereas "absichtlich" is more "planned" than "deliberately malicious".

... so verstehe ich das. Mehr Kontextinfo wäre allerdings hilfreich.
