I fail to understand why clicking on a mailto: link in a job post automatically puts my own address in the bcc: field.
That's been annoying me for a long time, quite frankly, and I've finally decided to whine about it (although I have far more praise for proz than compaints, mind you. Just making a suggestion to help the site improve).

My mail programs (I use several on several different machines, including thunderbird, icecove, seamonkey, evolution, mutt, and just the plain old gmail web interface) all keep a copy of sent messages in the /sent folder.
I really don't need to bcc: myself, since I already have a copy of my sent messages.
What is the logic in imposing this function?
I really think it should be removed.
Thanks,

Where does this happen? | | | EHI (X) Local time: 01:45 email address of job poster | Jun 8, 2009 |
Where does this happen?
This happens when you click on the email address of the job poster (under 'contact method'). | |

Hey, Samuel,
This occurs when the bidding method is via e-mail, as opposed to submitting a bid on the proz interface, and there is a mailto: link to mail the job poster. | | | Absolutely new to me | Jun 9, 2009 |
Maybe because instead of clicking, I copy and paste the outsourcer's e-mail address?
Just a tiny bug, I guess | | | To me as well | Jun 9, 2009 |
I also always copy and paste so I never had a chance to notice it.
I guess it is rather useless if someone feels like sending a blind copy it is not a problem to enter the address manually.

There's all kind of garbage in my "sent" folder. I like to keep my communications with clients in my inbox where I can remember what I said, while a job is still active.
Keep it the way it is!

Yeah, but then you have two copies of the same message, often with a resume attached...not efficient in terms of storage space.
It should be easy enough to find a msg in your sent folder (it is for me, whether using mutt, icedove, thunderbird, evolution, seamonkey mail, or gmail s web interface).
If there s too much garbage in there, clean it out.
I clean up my e-mail about once a month. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » bcc: unnecessary Wordfast Pro | Translation Memory Software for Any Platform
