I had to vote "other" because my answer was not there, although it's ovbious: It's very useful, but I can do well without it.

Not the expensive ones, surprisingly.
If you are a freelancer, you look twice, where to spend money.
After trying Trados for a year, I ended up with two less known CATs, one of them is like a good mate, the other one is really smart. The price difference is amazing...

I like my CAT tool. I use it for around 2/3 of my work.
The rest are scanned PDFs or other files that require extensive formatting. Much easier to just create the layout as I type, than to create a properly formatted file in the source language just to feed it through the CAT tool.

CAT tools save time. The translation still comes from my brain.

Where's the "I like my CAT tool, but I can translate without it just fine" option?
