Computer, but not C:/ drive Aug 31, 2013

I'm a little lazy when it comes to backing up my work on external devices, unless it's a big project.

Usually, I save all my work in folders that are located on Drive (D:), and create shortcuts of the current project's folder on the desktop for ease of access.
Should the computer catch a malware, and had to be formatted, Drive (:D) and its files will probably stay untouched.

That was my question as well.

For a while I save all projects on my computer until it's back-up time on an external hard drive.

PCs, laptops and pen drive/s.
Am not keen on cloud-based storage, if that's the motive for the poll.

Most of my business-related things is automatically saved to Dropbox, which I back up elsewhere fairly regularly as well. This has definitely been a good decision - my work laptop had to be restored a couple of months ago and I lost all the files on the computer, but fortunately all of my important files were safe.

On extra drive Aug 31, 2013

Last year I used to save on my computer and after it I started to save on Google drive. I think it is best way to save to see your file online as well as offline.

Usually I save on my computer, but after a while I copy some of the documents on a stick...so I make room for new docs and I save them for any incident.

Would have been another good option

Any kind of non-volatile physical device that can be connected offline and online to your computer whenever needed is recommended.

So is a Raid I computer which I have that mirrors everything on my working hard disk including the OS onto a backup hard disk which current tasks automatically and instantaneously switch over to in the event of a disk crash is recommended even more.

Every project done so far is on my computer, which every hour does the backup on an external drive. Every week I also copy everything on a second external drive.

That would seem to be the most sensible.

On my computer, in general and on an external HD as backup.
When I am working on larger projects, also on a daily basis on a USB stick

As for Cloud, no way and never! And drop box....

for important projects and long translations I haven't finished yet but "almost" I send it to myself-so that if by any chance I lose the computer I still have the long document available opening my e-mail box through someone else's computer or in a public library!
