Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you knew of any Arabic-English glossaries or dictionaries available for contracts? Or maybe even a finance one?

Thank you in advance!

Arabic-English Glossaries & Dictionaries ref contracts Apr 3, 2012

Greetings.

For terms related to contracts, you could well use some of the several English-Arabic glossaries dealing with legal, business, and commercial terms.

I suggest you contact the Jarir Bookstore in Garden Grove, California, which carries a number of those specialized references and can help you select suitable materials.

Website at URL: http://www.jarirbooksusa.com/

You can search inside the website for titles of interest by subject, etc.

Note: Despite the similar names, this Jarir bookstore in California is **not** related to the Jarir bookstore chain in Saudi Arabia, although the store does have US distributorship agreements with the Saudi chain and with Obeikan, the other large publishing and bookstore chain in Saudi Arabia.

I often visit that store in Garden Grove first when I am looking for specialized bilingual or Arabic-only references.

Hope this helps. Khair, in shaa' Allah.

You can find some useful Arabic English legal glossaries online:

As for offline references, I believe that Faruqi's Law Dictionary is a must-have, and you may purchase it via Amazon if you like:
http://www.amazon.com/Faruqis-Arabic-English-Dictionary-Arabic-Edition/dp/9953101299

Also you may find this book useful which I am planning to buy myself:
http://www.amazon.com/Arabic-Glossary-Glossaire-Juridiques-Francais/dp/032007000X/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1333620318&sr=1-4

There are some bilingual contracts available online via WATA like this one: http://www.wata.cc/forums/uploaded/72_1164276735.doc

Check others online, and you will find a good collection.

As for the financial dictionary, here you are some good online references:

Chaiban Business Dictionary:
http://www.arabconsult.com/resource/knowledge/dictionaries/chaiban/chaiban.asp

As for the must-have dictionary it is "Al Asiouty Financial Dictionary". You will find it extremely useful.

Hope this helps,
