I’m a PhD researcher (ABD) with 2+ years of experience working with translation (EN/PT) and editing with special focus to scientific papers and academic presentations, final papers, and theses. I’ve plenty of experience in clearly communicating complex topics to diverse and multicultural audiences as demonstrated by research done in Japan, Germany, USA, Switzerland, and Brazil. After living abroad for more than 6 years, I’m finally back to Brazil!
My translation experience started while I was working for Mundivisas in 2012, a company centered on the legalization of foreigners contracted by Brazilian companies, mainly in the oil & gas and shipping industries. As a process analyst, one of my duties was to translate documents from English to Portuguese. When I moved to Japan in 2014, I started to do the opposite; translating from Portuguese to English. I also worked as a freelance editor/proofreader and English Instructor. I worked closely with Prof. Saori Kawai from the Ryukoku University, where I proofread, edited, and graded academic works written in English, particularly students’ presentations and final papers for the “Globalization and ethics” and “Academic writing” courses as well as undergraduate theses.
Qualifications
I’m a PhD Candidate at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies (GSICS), Kobe University. My research focuses on Global Health Governance, particularly in the proliferation of public-private partnerships as well as the role of private philanthropic foundations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation.
I hold two masters degrees, one in Political Science from Kobe University and another in International Relations from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), a MBA in Foreign Trade and International Business from
Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Unilasalle-RJ.
