Translation - English "...The findings of this study are especially relevant for the Latin-American region since the abortion practices can be analyzed in the recent context of the enforcement of such a controversial policy as the ILE program (Legal pregnancy interruption by its acronym in Spanish) in Mexico City and the decriminalization of abortion in Uruguay in 2012. Therefore, and beyond any statistical referent, it is interesting to note that the results shown in this study reflect the current Mexican context where there is a sociopolitical transformation which is triggered by the great amount of information regarding abortion being spread, on one hand, and by the position of abortion on political and legislative debates, on the other hand.
