Bio

𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗧 — Elizabeth Bishop

The art of losing isn’t hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster.

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.

𝗨𝗡 𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘 — Elizabeth Bishop

Translating any type of text is always an art. Just as a sculptor works with wood, clay or stone, a translator takes a pen and paper (or in the twenty first century a computer and a strong Internet connection) and crafts a new, compelling text for a given audience. As a translator, I am the first and ultimate reader. I'm the sculptor that is going to take your content and transmit it to the Spanish-speaking audience.

Do I consider myself an artist? Yes, I do. Because I take my time to analyze the way you write, your tone of voice, your word choices, or any other subtlety before starting any type of project. Because I took several courses on literary translation and I know how to apply certain strategies if your character happens to speak in broken English or Scottish or in Jamaican Creole, or you tend to use a lot of slant rhyme to defy your readers' expectations.

If you need a creative translator, someone who can bring you two or three options for the same sentence or who can improve your text, then I'm your choice. Let's connect and chat via DM. Or you can write me to [email protected] or send me a Whatsapp to +54 9 2994686017.
