Source text - Italian «Mangiare bene vuol dire mangiare in modo intelligente; mangiare bene ci rende felici».
Translation - English “Eating well means eating intelligently; eating well makes us happy.” Elio Sironi’s concept of food is based on this principle and you can take his word for it over one of his plates of spaghetti with mullet roe. Chef at Ceresio 7 in Milan and executive chef at the Castiglion del Bosco estate in Siena, in the summer months Sironi is to be found at the helm of his Madai restaurant in Porto Cervo, overlooking the Porto Vecchio. His plates are rooted in the culinary traditions of the various Italian regions with an international twist added thanks to his time spent in Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Japan and Spain. The result is an imaginative style of cooking, undeniably Mediterranean, but with a contemporary reinterpretation. Above all the flavours of every dish are linked to the intrinsic properties of its ingredients, which are always selected with care. Here in Sardinia fish and seafood specialities and local products take pride of place, such as pecorino cheese with rhubarb, onion and cherry tomatoes; or his renowned spaghetti with mullet roe, cheese, lime and pepper; or Campidano turbot with soft potatoes, thyme and olives.

Translation - English As part of this initiative YCCS has undergone an audit from the SDA Bocconi Sustainability Lab in which the current practices of the structure and its internal and external activities were assessed. Several positive points emerged from the analysis, such as electrical energy supplied entirely from renewable sources, prevention of any dumping of products or substances in the port, new water and electrical current terminals and a bias towards local and seasonal products. Even though the Club’s activities are already geared towards protecting the environment, improvements need to be made. Above all a structured approach with organisational policies and greater efforts dedicated towards internal and external awareness and information sharing.

Translation - English The first qualifying event of 2017 is organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo and sees 12 teams participating. Competitors had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the regatta course and the J/70 boats during practise today while racing proper will get underway at 11 a.m. tomorrow, with winds of over 20 knots forecast. A round robin formula ensures that each team will race against all of the others over the course of 30 short and highly competitive windward-leeward races with 6 boats on the starting line each time.
"After the kickoff in 2015 and an exciting 2016,” declared Roberto Emanuele de Felice, President of the Italian Sailing League, “we are ready for a new season that will take the Italian Sailing League from Sardinia to Trieste and on to Crotone for the national final in October. Twelve teams are competing in this first leg and the forecast weather conditions should be excellent for this type of racing; we expect spectacular and competitive performances from the clubs: these will be three days of great Italian sailing.”

Translation - English Due to the strong Mistral winds predicted for tomorrow, Wednesday 25th July, the race start time has been changed. The Act 8 Coastal Raid will get underway at 1.30 p.m. with the finish expected to take place off Marseille’s waterfront at around 4 p.m.
This 40th edition of the Tour de France a la Voile is well into the home straight with only the final two Acts in Marseille and Nice remaining to decide the winning teams. The battle for first place overall will be a hard-fought one, but it will by no means be the only one unfolding over the next four days.
At this stage of the 2016 Tour, Lorina Limonade –Golfe du Morbihan was already practically assured victory as the team skippered by Quentin Delapierre and Matthieu Salomon headed into the final two Mediterranean Acts (Hyères and Nice) with a 55-point lead over their closest rivals. The situation is decidedly different this year as only 51 points separate the top nine boats in the overall classification. Leaders Fondation FDJ – Des Pieds et Des Mains, hold a slim 14-point lead over Team SFS in second place and are 16 points clear of Tresors de Tahiti in third.
Ranking changes have been an almost daily occurrence in this exceptional 40th edition of the event and all is yet to play for at the top of the scoreboard given that double points will be awarded for Saturday’s Nautical Stadium Final in Nice.
