Read moreject matter, I found the approach (reviewing a list of words) extraordinarily tedious. Moreover, would hardly call this a ES-EN training program. On the contrary, it seems like the terminology was originally in English, then translated into Spanish and then reformatted to appear in the ES-EN format. While I do not specialize in the field professionally, I studied law and am homeowner in South America. As such, I have formal training and practical experience in transactions of this nature performed solely in Spanish. In that context, the terminology purported as the Spanish original in this webinar sounded very contrived (translated, in fact). It was certainly not the language I am accustomed to finding in documents originally crafted in Spanish in Chile, Argentina, or Uruguay. One glaring example is "garantía de aislamiento con formaldehido de urea (UFFI por sus siglas en inglés)." While such a substance may be common in Canada, I have never seen reference made to anything like it in a document drafted in the Southern Cone. Perhaps it is used in Spain?" |
